HIT Scotland Emerging Talent Conference 2011

Today I’m at Edinburgh Corn Exchange to deliver three social media workshops for HIT Scotland.
Keynote speaker is Debbie Zmorenski who worked fat the Disney Corporation for 34 years who delivered a fantastic presentation on delivering excellent customer service.
The title of Debbie’s presentation is “How great leadership inspires Exceptional Customer Service” which is so true! Excellent customer service starts at management/owner level and needs to be embraced in the business culture.
Debbie showed statistics that 68% of customers leave a business due to employee attitude of indifference….
Debbie also emphasised that Disney values are based on:
Creating an Emotional Connection is extremely powerful
Emotion is a powerful way to win and keep committed customers
Which fits in greatly with my social media talk later today. Social media power for a business lies in the fact that businesses are able to engage, communicate and create an emotional connection with potential customers.
It enables business owners to share their passion and knowledge of their business with an audience that runs into millions!
